Lisa has over 20 years of experience in the college counseling and admissions fields, and has guided thousands of students towards achieving their personal and academic goals. She has directed the College Counseling departments at some of the most prestigious independent day schools in the United States and at the American School in London, and has also worked as an admissions officer at the University of Chicago. Lisa is frequently called upon to share her expertise in the college admissions process at conferences in the U.S. and Europe, including ones sponsored by the College Board, the National Association of College Admissions Counsellors, Oxford University, and the Independent Schools Careers Organization. Lisa has also spoken on the topic of “Writing the College Essay” on U.S. National Public Radio. Lisa received her B.A. in Religion from the University of Chicago.

Steve joined the Edvice team in August 2007. Previously, Steve spent 24 years at Princeton University, where he held a number of leadership positions, including: Director and Dean of Admission, Director of Planning/Administration for Campus Life, Director of Development Relations, and Senior Director in Communications. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experiences at the college level, particularly in undergraduate admissions; during his time at Princeton, Steve read over 180,000 undergraduate applications. Prior to his work at Princeton, Steve was a high school science and English teacher and athletics coach. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College (A.B.) and Harvard University (Ed.M.) and is an active member of his community, currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Trustees at Stuart Country Day School in Princeton.
Edward "Ted" de Villafranca

Ted has a sterling national reputation in the field, with over 25 years experience in all areas of admissions work from selective college and university admissions to independent boarding school admissions. Ted worked at the Peddie School for 17 years as the Director of College Counseling and Dean of Admissions and College Counseling and served on the Arts Faculty as a choral director. He directed the college counseling programs at Berkshire School and Virginia Episcopal School and worked in college admissions at Manhattanville College and the University of Richmond, where he forged a strong network of admissions colleagues. Known within the admission and counseling community as someone who works tirelessly for his students, Ted brings with him a broad and deep network both in the United States and Canada. Having traveled and recruited abroad, he knows school systems far and wide. A graduate of Kent School, Columbia University (M.A.) and Rhodes College (B.A.), Ted has presented at national and regional conferences and sits on the advisory board of the Fiske Guide to Colleges. Often quoted in the New York Times, Ted most recently served as their on-line expert for college admissions.
